This week in Maddi’s class we have been exploring the story of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’, with everything Hungry Caterpillar themed.

We have painted caterpillars and caterpillar food pictures, counted all the food that the Hungry Caterpillar ate, and even tried some ourselves!

The children have enjoyed our number caterpillar and stacking the colourful numbers onto it and loved getting messy with the ice caterpillar.

The children have loved being creative and painting and collaging butterflies.

We have had gorgeous weather the children have been able to get outside and splash in water at every opportunity which they have loved. We had an amazing sports day recently showing off the skills we have been practicing this term and have really enjoyed exploring different P.E equipment.

The children have developed some lovely relationships with their classmates, staff, and other people in school and follow their daily routines really well. Their independence skills have progressed amazingly, and they are all sitting and feeding themselves at snack and lunch times.

We had a ‘graduation’ party and wore a mortar board and posed for a photo, Class of 2025!

All in all, a lovely term and a gorgeous week to end our year in Reception!
