Friends of Nature’s World have provided Discovery Special Academy with an area of land to restore and manage. It is a small allotment plot that, throughout the summer, staff have volunteered their time to clear, prepare and make safe for our use.

We are hoping to develop this plot of land into an allotment/ community garden that we can use to make links, and take care of, with other schools and settings in the area. We are also hoping to work with Middlesbrough Environment City which is a charity dedicated to promoting healthy and sustainable living and the Kick start initiative which provides funding to create new jobs for 16-24-year olds who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

If anyone knows of anyone who can support us with the development, please get in touch with the academy.
