Cheryl

We hope you had a lovely Easter break. We are excited for our summer term.

Our main text this half term is Peace at Last. We will use this to listen to and recognise different sounds in our environment. Alongside this, we will be continuing to practise segmenting and blending sounds in words and encouraging mark making.

In maths, we will be rote counting to 10 in different ways along with recognising the numerals 1,2 and 3. We will be sequencing our day and exploring 3d shapes to build.

In PE, we will be using balls and practising our ball control using our hands and bats. We will be rolling and throwing balls and then using bats to pass the balls to each other.

As part of our RE lessons, we will be learning about different religious stories and thinking about their meaning.

In Geography, we will recap places that are important to us (home, school, park) and to recognise that some things are human made and some are natural. We will look at signs in our environment and talk about their meaning.

Our science next term builds on what we have talked about this half term when planning seeds. We will look at different plants we can eat, learn their names and how to plant and take care of them and then hopefully watch them grow.

To start our art topic, we will talk about warm colours and use these to create art before moving onto learning about printing and printing with different fruits and vegetables.

Towards the end of the half term, we will start our PSHERE which will look at a range of different fruits and vegetables, we will name, recognise and encourage tasting of them. We will also incorporate this into our sensory play.
