This week in Zai’s class, the children have settled back into routine well after half term. We have celebrated World Wildlife Day. The children used forks to make marks on paper plates and create different animal faces whilst developing their understanding of the world and enhancing their motor skills. We also celebrated World Book Day, with our focus being on ‘The little red hen’ book. The children enjoyed making a large collage red hen, using different red coloured materials to press on the paper. We have enjoyed listening to the story of the little red hen and making lots of crafts linking to this.

No pupil should miss school because they do not have period products. Periods are a normal part of life, and no child should feel embarrassed or stay at home because they cannot access what they need. Missing lessons can affect learning and confidence. At Discovery Special Academy we want every child to feel supported. If your child needs period products, please contact us and we will arrange for them to receive supplies whenever they are needed.
