A sensory story is a story that uses different senses — like touch, sound, sight, smell, taste, and movement — to help bring the story to life. As the story is told, objects, sounds, smells, or actions are used to help the listener feel part of it. Movement can help people join in, express feelings, and stay focused. Sensory stories are a fun, hands-on way to help with learning, communication, focus, and imagination.
At Discovery, we offer a wide range of social stories to all our pupils created by former teacher David Wilson.
