Sophie’s class have had a brilliant first week back after Christmas! The children have returned happy, settled, and full of enthusiasm for learning.
We’ve launched straight into our new English topic on Macbeth, and the students have loved diving into the story. They listened carefully, brought the opening scenes to life using props, and acted out the dramatic moment when Macbeth meets the three witches and becomes King. We’ve also begun creating a text map to help retell the story, which will support our writing next week.
In maths, the class have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes, working confidently to identify and describe their properties.
As part of our wider curriculum, we’ve started an exciting new topic on World War II. By comparing photographs from the past and present, the children have shown real curiosity about history, asking thoughtful questions about life ‘then and now’. They’ve also expressed their learning creatively by producing their own black-and-white artwork, using paint and charcoal to recreate the style and mood of wartime photographs.
