In gymnastics we have been practising balancing on different body parts and holding the shape. We have also been rocking and rolling in different body shapes, and we have learnt about a tuck shape, a pike shape and a straddle shape.
In mathematics we have practiced using different types of scales and measuring. We then used our skills to accurately measure out the dry ingredients to make oaty seed cakes. They were delicious!
The Sawdust Project :Some of the older children in our class were invited to take part in the Sawdust Project. Working with the Sawdust Project company, over a number of weeks they will make a sustainable grass chair which will be added to our outdoor area. In these photos the children are using a Chomp cutting machine to cut the pieces for the model of the chair design.

This week we joined hundreds of children in the Young Voices choir! Young Voices is celebrating its 30th anniversary, continuing its mission to inspire a generation of children through music by bringing together school choirs of up to 9,000 children for arena concerts across the UK. It was an amazing opportunity for our young people. We have put a lot of hard work into rehearsals at school, and this week was our time to shine! After our delicious lunch at Bella Italia, we rehearsed, dressed and performed for a stadium crowd. We sang with renowned vocal coach and powerhouse performer Michelle John as well as up and coming star Harriet Rose.
Discovery choir – we are proud of you!

As a parent or carer, how confident do you feel talking to your primary-aged children about bodies, puberty and development?
For many the answer is not confident enough! That’s why Brook’s Parent and Carer Participation Advisory Group have collaborated to create a webinar that will make parents and carers feel more confident having those important (and sometimes awkward) conversations.
The session will support you to take a positive, age-appropriate approach by helping you
✨ Understand why a positive approach to children’s bodies and development matters
✨ Feel empowered to have clear, factual conversations about bodies and puberty
✨ Manage awkwardness with confidence
✨ Adapt conversations to meet their child’s individual needs
The webinar will be hosted on Zoom on February 26th at 7pm. To sign up for free scan the QR code or head here:
