In maths we have been exploring height and measurements – first we started by working out our order of height which we did using our measurements we did right back at the beginning of the year, then, we all stood together and put ourselves in height order and worked out if anyone had grown (or shrunk) since October.

We have also been learning about circuits and electricity in science. Specifically what elements conduct electricity. We created a circuit that allowed us to try different items from around the room and see if they lit the bulb.

We have also been focusing on Asia as part of our Art focus. David has been teaching us all about Japanese fables which were used to create the art work on traditional plates and cups. We have been creating art work using the fables and have found that the cherry blossom tree plays a repeated role in a lot of the art work.

And whilst we have been learning about Asia we have also been learning to cook different Asian recipes, starting with Lemon Chilli Chicken which all the pupils loved, and this week we have made our own flavoured noodles where pupils tried different traditional asian sauces, combined them together and created our own flavour combination sauce to pour on a variety of different noodle types.

We even tried using chop sticks – eating noodles in the traditional way.
